DIY Never Ending Card (Infinity Card)

Perfect for birthdays, thank yous, or just because.
Materials Needed:
1 sheet of 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) cardstock (or any square-sized paper)
Scoring tool or ruler
Scissors or precision knife
Bone folder (optional, but helps with creasing)
Double-sided tape or glue
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Score Your 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) Paper
Place your square paper in front of you.
Score vertical lines at 2" and 6" (5 cm and 15 cm)
Rotate the paper 90°, then score again at 2" and 6" (5 cm and 15 cm)
This divides your paper into 16 equal squares, each measuring 2×2 inches (5×5 cm).
2. Cut Out the Center Cross
Along the horizontal score lines (2" and 6" / 5 cm and 15 cm), cut from the left edge to 2 inches in (5 cm) and from 6 inches to the right edge (15 cm to 20 cm).
This removes the center "plus sign" shape, leaving four corner panels.
3. Fold the Flaps Inward
Fold each corner panel toward the center along the score lines.
Crease well using a bone folder or ruler for sharp edges.
4. Glue Only the Four Corners
Apply glue or double-sided tape only to the four corner squares
Do not glue the center area — it must remain flexible to flip.
5. Fold and Flip
Fold two opposite sides of the card toward the center
Flip the card open — you’ll find a second, third, and fourth face that continues in a loop!
Decorating Tips
Each of the 4 faces can be decorated with:
Stickers
Photos
Stamped messages
Washi tape or die cuts
Keep your embellishments flat so the card flips smoothly.
You can create this card using any size of perfectly square paper—whether you're working in inches or centimeters. The key is to divide your square evenly into a 4×4 grid, then score accordingly along both the horizontal and vertical axes.
Here are a few examples for reference:
8×8 inches (20.3×20.3 cm)
Score at 2" and 6" (or 5.1 cm and 15.2 cm)
12×12 inches (30.5×30.5 cm)
Score at 3" and 9" (or 7.6 cm and 22.9 cm)
6×6 inches (15.2×15.2 cm)
Score at 1.5" and 4.5" (or 3.8 cm and 11.4 cm)
💡 Tip: As long as your paper is a square, you can adapt this to any size—just divide it into four equal sections each way.
